ALLAN LANE
Born 1975, Philadelphia, Pennsylvania
Allan Lane’s portraits are a study of intrusive investigation, capturing the excess of candid facial expressions and emotions of his subjects, who are family members, friends, or associates.
Lane regularly paints self-portraits, furthering the investigation of human expression and emotions, often composing double or triple self-portraits.
The artist’s figurative work, which includes the “Five Sides to Every Story” series, explores emotional trauma and realizations, both personal and public. They are the results of overthinking and the visual representations of afterthoughts.
Lane currently lives and works in the suburbs of Philadelphia, Pennsylvania.
